Aero Energy (TSXV:AERO, Not Rated, David A. Talbot) and Standard Uranium Ltd. (TSXV:STND, BUY (S), David A. Talbot) announced scintillometer and gamma probe results from the eight-hole (1,593m) drill program, completed at the Wishbone target of the Sun Dog uranium project in the Athabasca Basin, where Aero is earning up to a 100% interest. Drilling targeted the graphitic pelites hosted by the fold limbs of a ~5km anticline trend on the property. Seven of the eight holes returned anomalous radioactivity of >300 cps, with the highest radioactivity of 485 cps over 0.5, including a peak gamma probe reading of 1,582 cps (SD-24-018). Assays are pending, and plans are to follow up the results with additional geophysics and a Phase 2 drill program. We believe anomalous radioactivity encountered during this first pass drill program is encouraging and could help the company vector towards higher grade targets in the follow-up drill programs. We note that Sun Dog lies adjacent to Aero’s Murmac project where recent drilling intersected potential unconformity-style uranium discovery (read note). The past producing Gunnar mine at Sun Dog, which historically produced 18M lbs U3O8, is a further stamp of approval on the prospectivity of this project. Read more
