Impact: Positive
Aurion announced assays from nine holes (2,034m), completed at the Kaaresselkä area in the southern part of its 100%-owned Risti Au project in Finland. Six holes targeted the Vanha prospect and all six intersected gold – extending the mineralization laterally, along strike, and at depth. Assays returned intercepts grading up to 2.10 g/t Au over 3.10m (KS24079). These are positive results that have extended the mineralized footprint 600m along strike and to 200m depth. Mineralization remains open in all directions and the company is planning to follow this up with additional scout drilling in 2024. Based on the recent and previous results from Vanha (read notable), we believe Aurion has started to gain critical mass in this area, which should bode well for resource delineation. The geology, structure and mineralization at the area appear similar to that found at the Helmi discovery at its neighbouring JV project with B2Gold (TSX:BTO, Not Rated).
