Aurion Resources Ltd. (TSXV:AU, BUY, C$1.50 target, David A. Talbot) announced regional exploration results from its 100%-owned Risti project in Finland. The company collected 1,936 base of till (BoT) samples from Risti, of which 30 samples graded 0.1 g/t Au or better with the highest being 1.26 g/t Au, with assays pending for over 600 samples. Several pathfinder elements were also identified. While spacing and lines were wide apart, additional infill BoT sampling continues. When BoT is combined with other methods, we believe it could help Aurion vector in on gold-rich areas. It has been instrumental in helping discover several gold deposits nearby because high glacial till cover makes the region unamenable to prospecting and surface mapping. Meanwhile, several large-scale structures have been interpreted from the drone magnetic survey. These structures may represent shear zones or domain boundaries, which make great exploration targets. While a ground magnetic survey is currently underway to provide detailed structural data, the company has commenced drilling to test the new BoT and geophysical targets. Drilling is also planned to target the recently discovered mineralization within gabbro at the Aamurusko discovery (read more), and is expected to continue through the balance of the year. Although Aurion is actively advancing Risti, the focus remains on the Helmi discovery at its JV with B2Gold (TSX:BTO, Not Rated), where drilling continues to extend mineralization (read more).
