Impact: Positive
Aurion Resources provided an update on exploration activities at its 100%-owned Risti Au project located in the Central Lapland Greenstone Belt in northern Finland. Through ongoing geophysical and geochemical surveys, and a Base of Till survey, Aurion has identified 20 high priority targets. These may have included gold, arsenic, copper, tungsten and other pathfinder elements, which suggest favourable underlying structures and geology. Aurion spent two years laying down this exploration groundwork, where it has been successful in several parts of the Greenstone Belt. It has started to update its geological models, identifying serious targets, largely within mafic and ultramafic rocks. Encouraging scout drilling is also part of these exploration results, and another ~1,400m of drilling is planned by YE22. Overall, we believe that the ongoing work at the Risti is very promising, and we see potential for the new high priority targets to pay dividends. We see potential to expand Aamurusko along trend and into wider zones and new rock types not previously considered. Work at Kaares has uncovered two new gold systems and introduced PGE mineralization on this 15km of untested structure. Notches is also showing strong alteration and mineralization within the conglomerate. Meanwhile, many eyes are focused on the B2Gold (TSX:BTO, Not Rated) JV Hemli discovery, located 1,300m from Rupert Resources’ (TSXV:RUP, Not Rated) Ikarri development project, and on the property boundary.
