Baselode Energy Corp. (TSXV:FIND, BUY (S), David A. Talbot) has commenced a 10,000m drilling program on the high-grade ACKIO discovery at its 100%-owned, Hook uranium project in the Athabasca Basin. The high-grade ACKIO target was discovered in September and is located 70km northeast of the Key Lake mill, a JV between Cameco Corp. (TSX:CCO, Not Rated) and Orano, and close to well established infrastructure including an all-season road and powerline. Drilling is planned with two rigs in 50m step-out holes, to the north and south along strike of known high-grade mineralization, following up on results from Q4/21 drilling (read more) with the objective of understanding the mineralized system. Results from the last round of drilling showed potentially economic uranium mineralization at depths of ~90m-125m below surface, and over a lateral distance of ~45m, with the highest grades coming from the metasediments below the unconformity. We expect lots of news flow from Baselode in the upcoming months as drill results are also pending from the Beckett target area, where seven drill holes were completed. With drilling underway at Hook, planning for a drilling program at its 100%-owned Catharsis project in Q2/22 or Q3/22 in also underway. Read more
