CanAlaska Uranium Ltd. (TSXV:CVV, BUY (S), David A. Talbot) has commenced a 3,000m drilling program at the high-grade Manibridge Ni project in the Thompson Nickel Belt (TNB) in Manitoba, where Metal Energy Corp. (TSXV:MERG, Not Rated) is earning a 100%-interest in the project. The nine-hole program is expected to focus on areas within 1km of the past-producing, Manibridge Ni mine that produced 1.3Mt at average grades of 2.55% Ni and 0.27% Cu in the 1970s. Drilling will test several different targets and is expected to provide new geological information to help move the project towards the next stages of exploration. Importantly, CanAlaska has extensive land holdings in the TNB, and we expect exploration activities and investment in the camp to increase as Ni prices take off and global inventory levels sink to historic lows.
