Impact: Positive
Doubleview (DBG) reported results from its ongoing metallurgical test work at its 100%-owned Hat Cu-Au-Co-Sc project in the Golden Triangle of northern British Columbia (Figure 1). The tests yielded a 56% recovery of Sc to a phosphate precipitate, in what could potentially become one of the first sources of Sc phosphate in North America. Scandium is a high-value product with several industrial uses and could boost the project’s economics. Work on the maiden mineral resource estimate at Hat is underway. We believe the 56% Sc recovery is a solid result for Doubleview. While there is further work needed to optimize Sc recovery and purity of the final Sc phosphate product, the company has demonstrated that it can recover a significant portion of the Sc to a precipitate, which would ultimately be the saleable product.
