E3 Metals Corp. (TSXV:ETMC, Not Rated, David A. Talbot) reported that Alberta’s government introduced Bill 82, the Mineral Resource Development Act. The Albertan government has introduced legislation to improve the regulatory environment for the lithium industry. The bill has not been passed yet but is within the scope of Alberta’s Recovery Plan, and the government is currently finalizing strategies for key economic sectors. E3 Metals is working with the Alberta’s Energy Minister, Sonya Savage, on helping the government unlock the province’s vast mineral potential. E3 and other industry leaders are supporting the province in its efforts to diversify its economy and become a world leader in mineral resource production. Bill 82 seeks to establish the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) as the lead authority for the province’s mineral resources. We believe by having a one stop shop for regulatory approval, this increases clarity and predictability for the industry. Additionally, the AER plans to ensure that the development of these critical mineral’s projects happen quickly and does not create harmful ESG impacts. We believe this is positive legislation showing that the government is supportive of lithium development in the province. Read more
