Future Fuels (FTUR) has closed a C$6.6M private placement and is now funded to launch a drill program at the Mountain Lake deposit on its 100%-owned Hornby project in Nunavut. We recently sat down with its technical team to understand its plans and potential. Its first step is to find the high-grade structures within and beneath the existing historical resource of 8.2Mlbs at 0.23% U3O8. In our view, this is a respectable grade for a flat, shallow (~100 m), sandstone-hosted deposit, and historic holes point to a cross-fault-controlled trend that 1970s vertical drilling could never have oriented. Oriented core should finally show whether that high grade is continuous. The second step is to use that structural understanding to vector toward satellite discoveries in adjacent fault blocks and along the 91km shale-capped trend toward Hot Creek, where the district-scale upside sits. At ~C$3.7/lb on historical pounds, the market is giving little credit for either step. With an 8.2Mlbs historical resource in hand, a clear structural hypothesis to test, and a discovery-tested technical partner behind it. The 2027 program offers an attractive setup for both resource growth and new discoveries from a low valuation base.
