Giyani Metals Corp. (TSXV:EMM, Not Rated, David A. Talbot) provided an update on activities at its 100%-owned K.Hill Mn oxide project in Botswana. Optimized metallurgical testwork and final process flowsheet design are underway for the upcoming Feasibility Study. Once the flowsheet is finalized, construction of the demonstration plant will begin with the objective of having the plant operational by H1/22. Furthermore, 26 of 56 RC drill holes have been completed at the Otse Mn prospect located 40km east of the K.Hill project, following up on targets identified by an IP survey. Nearly all holes completed have shown visible mineralization, with initial results showing high-grade mineralization in excess of 50% MnO. Giyani has also been in discussion with a number of OEMs and potential offtakers to sign purchase agreements and as such has executed data and sample sharing agreements with several major OEMs and cathode producers. The company has also been welcomed to the European Battery Alliance 250 network, which was established in 2017 to create a battery cell manufacturing chain in Europe. We look forward to the release of the K.Hill FS and ongoing exploration work at Otse. Results from the Otse prospect to date have been better than expected, to the point where it might help influence the placement of the process plant. The FS is expected in Q4/21, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it is delayed slightly to account for a re-scaling of the project to accommodate the Otse prospect. Meanwhile, we look forward to results from ongoing testwork which should help reduce impurities in the high purity manganese sulphate monohydrate (HPMSM) product. Read more
