Lotus Resources Ltd. (ASX:LOT, BUY, A$0.40 target, David A. Talbot) announced it has appointed Ms. Dixie Marshall as Non-Executive Director of the company. Ms. Marshall has over 38 years of experience in media, advertising, government relations and communications. She has worked across a range of platforms, including television, radio, newspaper, and digital, and has won awards for journalism and marketing. Ms. Marshall is currently the Managing Director of Marketforce, Western Australia’s (WA) oldest advertising agency, and previously worked for the Western Australian Government Premier’s Office for six years as the Director of Strategic Communications. Ms. Marshall is also Deputy Chair of WA’s Football Commissioner, and Director of Frontier Energy Ltd. (ASX:FHE, Not Rated). With this appointment, we anticipate that Lotus’ messaging is going to become much more succinct and targeted, and its attention to marketing will likely be elevated as it tests new mediums. Furthermore, this could have a positive impact on Government relations, both in Australia and potentially in Malawi. Recently, Kayelekera’s resources grew by 23% to 46.3M lb U3O8 (read more), forming the basis of the restart DFS scheduled for mid-2022. This larger resource should help increase LOM and potentially improve its project NAV, assuming ore sorting is incorporated into the mine plan. We anticipate the DFS to incorporate other cost savings measures such as connecting to the power grid, acid plant optimization, a potential steam power plant, processing plant improvements and efficiencies, and new tailings disposal options.
