NexGen Energy Ltd. (TSX:NXE, Not Rated, David A. Talbot) announced that the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment has approved the 2023 site infrastructure and confirmation program (SI&CP) for its 100%-owned Rook I project in the Athabasca Basin. The infrastructure program is focused on expanding and upgrading existing infrastructure and constructing new facilities to support the development of the project. Key aspects include: 1) expansion and upgrade of the temporary camp facility, 2) conducting upgrades to the access road and existing on-site roads and 3) widening the Patterson Creek bridge to support increased use. The confirmation program is focused on gathering additional information to support detailed engineering work, including freeze hole drilling at planned shaft locations to validate ground conditions. The SI&CP will result in an increase in the on-site workforce by over 60 full-time equivalent personnel, with significant local participation. All work is expected to commence shortly.
