Nexus Gold Corp. (TSXV:NXS, Not Rated, Timothy Lee) reported preliminary assay results from the diamond drilling program at its 100%-owned 9,800 ha Dakouli 2 Au project in Burkina Faso, West Africa. The results are from five holes, which are part of a recently completed 11-hole, 2,500m core drilling program designed to follow up on results from RC drilling completed in late 2020. All five holes encountered near-surface gold mineralization, often with multiple >1 g/t Au intersections within the same hole. Highlights include 10.87 g/t Au over 4m, within 1.9 g/t Au over 28m (DKL-21-DD-002) and 1.01 g/t Au over 15m (DKL-21-DD-001). These are positive results that help further demonstrate continuity over this mineralized structure, which has been traced over 800m and remains open at depth. The core drilling program not only helps further delineate this mineralized trend, it also helps yield geologic and structural information not revealed in RC drilling. Assay results are pending for the remaining six holes. Nexus continues to have good drilling results from its two main projects: Dakouli 2 in Burkina Faso and McKenzie in the Red Lake area of Ontario (read more), while also completing preliminary work on its earlier-stage projects that could lead to partnerships.
