Visionary Gold Corp. (TSXV:VIZ, BUY (S), Taylor Combaluzier) has discovered two, new exploration targets ~50km NE of its 100%-owned, flagship Wolf Au project in Wyoming. The Black Rock Au-Cu and Tin Cup Cu prospect were identified based on ongoing field work near the project. The Black Rock Au-Cu prospect is located 50km NE of the Wolf project and significant Au, Cu and Co values have been identified in soil and rock chip samples including 4.15 g/t Au and 3.07% Cu (VGR982958). Subsequent ground magnetic surveys suggest that Cu and Au mineralization is associated with a high magnetic contrast zone which appears to represent a sheared lithologic contact where surface mineralization was discovered. A total of 52 rock samples and 218 grid soil samples were analyzed in this area. The Tin Cup Cu prospect is located 10km W-NW of Black Rock, with Cu and Fe observed from sampling yielding anomalous grades of up to 5.61% Cu. Mineralization appears in banded chert, jasperoid, and gossans that are bound by granite gneiss, basalt, all with variable magnetite content and visible Cu oxide staining; chalcopyrite has also been observed in less oxidized samples. A total of 181 rock samples were analyzed in this area. Importantly, mineralization at these prospects is different from what has been found at the orogenic Au targets at Wolf and Lewiston-Miz. Field work continues at Black Rock with detailed structural and lithological mapping, along with ground magnetic surveys planned and a potential drilling program later on in 2022. At Tin Cup, a ground magnetic survey is in progress followed by additional mapping, sampling and geophysical surveys planned. Drilling is also expected to commence at the 3km-long Lewiston-Miz target (read more), located 1.5km SE of the Wolf project, in Jul/22, followed by the Wind Hill and Wolf Shear targets. We are encouraged to see Visionary identifying several compelling targets on its land package. Visionary is a first mover in the Lewiston district and is taking a district-scale and systematic approach to exploration, thus we expect additional targets to be identified and tested. In our view, with a year of data collection in-hand, Visionary should be poised to execute a 2022 drill program that could potentially result in a discovery. Read more
