Westgold Resources Ltd. (ASX:WGX, TSX:WGX, Not Rated, Ron Stewart) provided an update on recent mining activity at the Western Flanks orebody within its 100%-owned Beta Hunt Au mine in Western Australia. Sediment-hosted coarse Au mineralization has been confirmed at Western Flanks and particularly where 2019 exploration drilling returned the following highlight results: 1) 1,017.3 g/t Au over 2m incl. 7,621 g/t Au over 0.27m (WFN-29) and 2) 395.9 g/t Au over 4.75m incl. 2,210 g/t over 0.85m (WFN-063). These results highlight the potential for Western Flanks to host the same style of coarse Au mineralization which was previously mined from the Father’s Day Vein (FDV) occurrence within the A zone deposit, which was discovered in 2018 and historically produced >30k oz Au. Notably, the FDV has not been included in the A zone geology of the resource model yet and therefore is expected to deliver additional ounces to the mine plan. Potential also remains for similar style, high-grade mineralization in other target areas within Beta Hunt, including the high-grade Fletcher zone (read notable). Looking ahead, Westgold remains focused on identifying further coarse Au mineralization within Fletcher, as well as extensions to shear zones in the Beta and Gamma blocks. Management expects to test this upside potential through accelerated drilling programs in 2025. Read more
