Impact: Positive
Aston reported initial metallurgical test work from a drill core sample at the Bardwell area, within the Boomerang Ni target, on its 100%-owned Eddleston project south of Timmins, Ontario. These initial tests yielded high Ni recoveries, with >70% recovery to a rougher concentrate and 60% with a cleaning circuit. As well, the tests revealed very low levels of Ni in silicate or oxide minerals, with the Ni dominantly contained in conventional sulphides, resulting in a saleable concentrate. In our view, these are positive results, with high recoveries and confirmation of the large fraction of nickel in sulphides at Bardwell. This bodes well for the future nickel development potential on the Eddleston project.
