Atomic Minerals Corp. (TSXV:ATOM, Not Rated, David A. Talbot) has received drill permits for 20 drill pad locations at its Harts Point uranium project in SE Utah, where Kraken Energy Corp. (CSE:UUSA, Not Rated) is earning a 75% interest. The 2,000m Phase 1 drill program is expected to commence in early July and is planned to test 4.5km of prospective strike where historical oil and gas holes returned off-scale radioactivity within the same geologic unit that has been mined elsewhere in the region. Harts Point anticline is thought to be an analogue to the Lisbon Valley anticline located 31km to the east, which hosted 17 large uranium mines that produced ~80M lb U3O8 at 0.34% from 1948-82. Success at Harts Point could lead to focus shifting on Atomic’s other properties in the region, including the 10 Mile and Dolores projects, also interpreted to be analogues to the Lisbon Valley anticline.
